PRESENTATION OF THE BOOK
It is said that life is an art.
But what does that really mean? Yes, I have tried to explore that through this book.
Art Ritual & the 9 i-words is a slightly different lifestyle book that is based on my experiences and the knowledge I have gained through life. It is about 9 different i-words, including information, inspiration, intuition which are the main themes of the book. These 9 i-words shape our lives and help create the Art Ritual for each of us.
And it makes me think about how, with the help of the i's, I found my way from the yoga form I am trained in to what I call Silent Yin & Yang movement when I was struggling with a lot of pain in my hips and had fatigue syndrome. The intention was to create calm exercises for recovery through the information I had from my body and the underlying cause of the pain I had, the ignoring of my intuition that screamed louder and louder to stop what I was doing.
So Art Ritual is how we approach the challenges we face. The 9 i-words we use when we encounter challenges and joy throughout life, and our actions through all of the wonderful i-words are "rituals" that create the art of life.
The book was created after a strong desire to collect texts, experiences in the creative process, yoga and photography in a flowing journey among elements, emotions and experiences, and here you can experience a breath of inspiration – from me to you. And no matter who you are, what you do, or how old you are – it doesn’t matter.
And, in the middle of this there is a path that only you can walk, and because we all have our own creative art ritual based on personality, knowledge and experience, the message in the 9 i-words becomes a tool for inspiration for more joy, harmony and a deeper awareness.
The book is a witness from a creative life and the ability to follow an inner force because the heart can burn stronger than reason. It is an art form in itself – and a gift – that offers an exciting new perspective on how we can meet new tasks.
I have learned so much along the way, while the book took shape, and there have been challenges, but also deep joy in reflecting on everything I have created throughout my life so far. So I hope it can be allowed to continue to support you as a quiet, dear friend.
A poem from the book
I can sleep my way through life
for a little while
I can cry my way through life
for a little while
I can shut myself off from the sounds of the world
for a little while
I can fight my way through life
for a little while
I can want everything for life
for a little while
I can love everyone for life
for a little while
A little while is all I have –
an eternity – a day – a moment
“Berit Haga has written an inspiring book where she invites the reader into a groundbreaking and philosophical landscape where she explores the 9 i-words together with the reader.”
What is special about the book is her presentation of how everything is connected on the inner and outer levels in a journey of design, images, texts and poems.
